Notice of Race

Sweetheart’s Regatta 2007

Organized By: Pamlico Sailing Club

Date: February 17, 2007

Racing Area: The racing area includes Blount’s Bay, the mouth of Broad Creek, and the Pamlico River between Marker 9 to the west and Marker 7 to the east.

Race Format: The Sweetheart’s Regatta is double-handed race by a crew consisting of one female and one male sailor. Number of races and course will be determined based on conditions.

Racing will be cancelled if there are less than three competing boats

Skipper’s Meeting: 10:30 AM, Saturday, February 17, 2007 at Captain Sam’s Tiki Bar. First gun will be around noon.

Eligibility: Any sailing vessel, 20 feet or greater in length having a valid NC-PHRF certificate or having a provisional rating assigned by the race organizers may register. One or more classes may be created based on turnout and range of PHRF ratings.

Entry Form, Fees: There will be a $10.00 per boat entry fee. Email intention to race to rboyles@peoplenetonline.com or show up at the skipper’s meeting. Fees collected at skipper’s meeting

Safety: Racing will be canceled in the event of forecast high below 45° F., 11:00 AM temperature below 40°F., or sustained wind observed or forecast above 15 knots.

Trophies: Trophies will be presented to the top two finishers in each class with at least 4 boats registered and to the winner of each class with less than 4 boats registered.

Social: At Capt. Sam’s Tiki Bar. We will have Hot Chocolate and Hot Glue Wine and present the results.
